Located in the beautiful and newly renovated Spa by Merle Norman (in the concourse level of the Fairmont Royal York hotel) you are provided the very best care in our luxury environment. Whether you’re looking to relax and rejuvenate with a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, get stretched out with a Thai Yoga Massage treatment or realigned with a Symmetry postural correction session, Oliver has invested his time to ensure you walk out of your treatment in better condition than when you walked in.

Oliver’s journey to becoming the massage therapist that he is has taken him down many an interesting path. Drawing upon eastern mindfulness meditation, western physics based approach to body alignment and restoration, Oliver brings the best of both worlds to his practice and to helping his clients achieve their goals. His fascination with movement and the body began at the age of 15 when he began a career in street dance performance. Having performed in music videos, commercials and the stage by the age of 20, he learned the benefit which dedicating oneself to something can achieve. After a number of dance related injuries, Oliver began developing an interest in yoga as a means of healing his body. While on a year long backpacking trip around Southeast Asia, Oliver completed a college degree in yoga while studying meditation and living in a Zen monastery. After teaching 15-20 classes a week for 4 years, he decided to increase his anatomical knowledge and capacity to help those with injuries by enrolling in Massage Therapy at Kikkawa College.

Oliver well understands the impact that sitting at a desk can have on the body. After going from a period of high activity, while teaching yoga, to sitting 8 hours a day at school, he sustained a lower back injury soon after his graduation. His injury left him on his back for a month and plagued him for a year afterwards. After receiving treatment from a Symmetry practitioner (a system of objective postural assessment coupled with corrective alignment exercises) he was able to make a full recovery. Soon after this he began training in the modality and, after an apprenticeship and 3 courses, is now a fully certified practitioner. While Oliver has specialized in alignment restoration and pain reduction he has also taken a wide variety of trainings to round out his practice. His goals are to reduce your stress, pains, chronic injuries and to help you get back to doing the things you love to do.
